Boston Celtics guard Dee Brown stepped onto the court for the 1991 Slam Dunk Contest, bent over near the judge’s table, and pumped up his pair of Reebok’s for one of the most iconic entrances in NBA history – helping get the crowd on his side and setting the stage for the spectacular gravity-defying maneuvers to come. What followed was a series of crowd-pleasing aerial feats, capped off by a no-look dunk that cemented his place (along with his Pumps) in All-Star Weekend lore.
On June 14, the Reebok Omni Lite OG in Brown’s iconic black and white Dunk Contest colorway will finally return to BAIT.
The shoe makes its return over two decades from Brown’s Dunk Contest win over Shawn Kemp and stays faithful to the pair that he pumped up that night. Black tumbled leather makes up most of the shoe’s upper, which is broken up by white trim on the plastic wings, midsole, collar, and Reebok branding. Of course, the classic basketball-shaped Pump mechanism sits on the tongue in a vibrant orange. Like before, pumping it will inflate the bladder for a customized fit.
The Reebok Omni Lite OG “Dee Brown” will be available Friday, June 14 at BAIT and BAITme.com for $115.
